Production log 6

This week I have been editing and also been trying to get all my footage done of myself which I have done so i can focus everything on finishing my editing. I struggled with using live type as I have forgotten to use but my friend and class mate Gareth fisher helped me and reminded me how to use the software which made everything more easier and much better to use. As I came close to finishing my documentary, I saw that the documentary would only be 4:30 long instead of the target which is 5 minutes minimum. I had come up with a idea of putting up a fact just too make it 5 minutes long which I managed to do in the end. I also had to change all my transitions to the same one which made the documentary look good due to the the different type of transition throughout.

This week I have been focusing on editing my documentary due to the deadline next friday which is an extension from next wednesday to friday, which a relief as I have time to film myself and cutaways that I have left to do to finish my documentary. When I was filming myself I struggled to focus on speaking clearly due to my illness that I caught for a few days but everything overall came out nicely. I had also re-interviewed my friend Rohini who is a lifeguard at Virgin Active, this is because of the shot type I had used was not good and also my teacher had told me to cut myself off in the interview as it would make my audience focus on the interviewees in my documentary more as in if I was in the documentary it wouldn't.

Next week will be my final week to complete my documentary and on my blog plus youtube. I will try to finish editing my documentary so my teacher can tell me anything I need to re-film or edit out or put in.

This week I had finally got my interview with my cousin who is a nutritionist, which I know can help me get a good grade with the type of expert content shown on my documentary. Besides that I did not get a reply from the seven kings heath centre which basically I wanted to get a interview with my doctor. Overall this week I have focused on editing my documentary which was the main thing for that week as my teacher Mr Philipson will have a edit check and see my progress on my documentary. I got back some good feedback on my documentary which was fantastic, and I also got some good advice on how I could make my documentary more better compared to what it is now.

Next week I will be focusing on doing more editing and also finish off with getting all my footage of myself and plus cut aways to make the documentary more interesting.

This week I was planning to interview my cousin and a doctor but both was unavailable to see me which was a down side of the whole week, but I have tried to contact other health centre with doctors that could see me for an interview. I had left massagers or voice mails just telling them what I exactly need them for and why. I had also tried to organise another a date for me to interview my cousin. Beside that I have been filming myself on the bits which I will need to be in, to explain and talk other area we will be looking at.

Next week I will be editing and see if I can film myself to fill in any other pieces for myself to cover and hopefully I can get an interview with my cousin which would be brilliant to have on my documentary.

This week I have filmed and interviewed about four people about their own opinion on why young teenagers go gym? As I had filmed and interviewed the four people, I had already come up with a few theories on why young teenagers want to go gym. On top of that I had filmed myself talking quickly about diets, protein shakes and legal gym pills, and also the different factors with it.

I had filmed on three different days which gave me time to think about the questions and the way I will present myself to the interviewees and top the audience by camera. I had first filmed on a Wednesday which was the interviews with Niall and Tej who are both fitness lovers that go gym most of their free time. I had interviewed them in the fitness suite in my school Chadwell Heath Academy. I locations and setting in the background matched the theme and topic of the documentary. It was perfect for the interview to take place due to the gym equipment set in the background to remind the audience what kind of theme and topic I am talking about. The next day I had gone out to film and interview another two people which one of them is a lifeguard and the other a gym branch manager at Virgin Active. I interviewed the branch manager at the gym office and the other at her house. Both of them had a similar kind of answers but different in their own way.

Next week I will be interviewing a doctor and my cousin who is a nutritionist which should my documentary different side to be looked at.

This week I have been working on my production paper work and completed it. This week I have also went with Gareth to a Match Mothers meeting in slough, in Burnham Bucks at a Mars factory which was a good experience but also sad. The meeting was about mothers without their children and that don’t have contact with their own children because of the Fathers of Justices program that is quite big and is shown quite a lot in the media. I went to go help Garth, by being the Camera man also help him become more confident when interview the mothers about the meeting and their experiences which they are going through now. We also had went to the meeting to get cutaways and listen to the people explaining the different factors the charity Match Mothers does and how it helps Mother be heard out to their children.

As I was there filming the interview, I was listening to what the mothers was saying in terms of how they was reacting to the questions and also how they told us openly. Some of the interview was emotional because there was one that had hit me the most about how a mother had come home from America and found out that the father and kids had moved out taking the furniture taken as well, which all the mother just had was an empty house.

The trips to slough and back was good because it didn’t take us to long to get there and back which was a plus side to the whole thing.

Next week I will be interviewing a lifeguard and a gym branch manager of Virgin Active in Ilford, I will also have to interview a two gym lovers which will be in the fitness suite (gym) at Chadwell Heath Academy. I have planned to film myself talking about protein shakes and legal gym pills and how teenager know about it when starting gym.
